Our Secret Tips To Enhance You Korean Vocabulary quickly!

We have had many LAK students ask, "How can I remember Korean words quickly?” 🤔

Yes, Korean can be hard sometimes. 😫 Learning new words is one of the most difficult parts of learning a new language. This is especially true for Korean, which has a very different way of writing and a lot of words to learn. But don't worry, though, because we're here to help!🤗

So. In today's newsletter, we'll give you some tips and ideas to help you learn vocabulary quickly.

Here are some ways to help you remember and recall Korean words better

LAK’s Daily Word Workout 🏃‍♀️

The best way for you to begin is with six words on the first day. The next day, review what you learned the day before and add six more words to make a total of twelve.  On the third day, review what you learned the day before and add six more words, for a total of 18 words. This continues for each day. Once you know these words, you just need to look at them quickly and pay more attention to the ones that are harder. If you learn new words this way, you'll be able to say and remember a lot of them in the future. Use this method along with the ideas below.

Use Index Cards🗃️

Flashcards are a tried-and-true way to learn new words. They make it easy and quick to look over words and what they mean. You can make flashcards out of paper or use digital ones, like Quizlet, which is our favorite. Try to look over your flash cards every day, and as you learn more words, add them to your deck.

Learn Words By Seeing How They Are Used 👁️‍🗨️

It can be hard to learn words one at a time, but learning them in context can help you remember them better. You can read Korean books, listen to Korean podcasts, or watch Korean dramas with subtitles in both English and Korean. Or just Korean, to see how much you know

Use Mnemonic Devices 🧠

Mnemonic devices are strategies that can be used to help you remember important information. You can make it much easier for yourself to remember Korean words by associating them with a picture or a humorous phrase.

Repeat, Repeat, Repeat🔁

 Repetition is key when it comes to memorizing words. Repeat the words out loud, write them down, and use them in sentences. The more you repeat a word, the more likely you are to remember it.

Practice With A Language Partner👫

Practice speaking Korean with a language partner who can help you with pronunciation and grammar. You can also quiz each other on vocabulary.

Set Goals 🏁

Set realistic goals for yourself and track your progress. You can aim to learn a certain number of words per day or week and reward yourself when you reach your goals.

Remember to not overstudy, give yourself short breaks, and most importantly, have fun!
