As you might know, we had a major loss in the K-Pop world. The singer Moonbin passed away on April 19th. He was found in his home by his manager. We are not speculating anything about how he passed until there is a full examination of an autopsy report. If we have any updates, we might discuss it in a future newsletter. Many friends, family, and fans of Moonbin are currently in mourning over the loss of their loved one Moon Bin. In this article, we will be talking about Moonbin’s personality, accomplishments, and the life that he lived.
The Little Moon That Became A Shining Star
Moonbin 문빈 was born on January 26, 1998, in Cheongju, Chungbuk Province. He attended and graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School, where he studied music. Moonbin has two siblings. Moonbin’s sister Sua is a member of a K-pop group called Billie.
Moonbin started his career as a child model in 2004. His first appearance on television was in 2006, when he appeared in TVXQ's music video for their song “Balloons”, portraying a mini U-Know Yunho.
In 2009, he had his very first acting role in a Korean drama called “Boys Over Flowers”, where he played the younger version of Kim Bum's character.
However, Moonbin's passion for music led him to pursue a career in singing. In 2016, he debuted as a member of the boy group Astro under Fantagio Entertainment.
ASTRO
ASTRO made their debut in 2016 under the management of Fantagio Music, and since then, they have been making waves in the Kpop industry with their catchy tunes, stunning music videos, and energetic performances. Their fan base, known as "Aroha," has been growing rapidly, and their popularity continues to rise with each new release.
Astro starred in a web drama debut called “To Be Continued."
They have also been ambassadors for various brands and have participated in various charitable events, showing their dedication to giving back to the community.
One of the reasons ASTRO has been so successful is their strong bond as a group. Members MJ, JinJin, Cha Eun-woo, Moonbin, Rocky, and Yoon San-ha are not only talented performers but also great friends who support and encourage each other both on and off stage.
Moonbin's talent as a singer and dancer shone through when auditioning for Astro. He was made the main dancer and lead vocalist. Astro quickly gained popularity, with their hit songs "Hide & Seek," "Baby," and "All Night" topping the music charts. Astro is known for their amazing singing, rapping, dance skills, and engaging music videos. Most of all, the boys had great chemistry. This bond has translated into their music, making ASTRO's songs even more heartfelt and genuine. Astro was always on VLive and interacted with their fans. Especially Moonbin. There are so many videos of them being silly and laughing nonstop.
Moonbin's smooth vocals, powerful dance moves, and charismatic stage presence contributed to Astro's success. He also took part in writing and composing songs for the group, showcasing his creativity as an artist. Astro has released several successful albums, and Moonbin has gained recognition for his contribution to the group's success.
Moonbin was also known for being a great listener and giving advice when asked. Many people said that he was fun to be around and have great conversations with.
Male Entertainer Of The Year
2019 Moonbin decided to give acting another shot; he landed a role in the television series Moment of Eighteen as Jung Oh-jea.
In addition to his group activities, Moonbin appeared on some shows as a cast member. From 2018–2019, he was on The Ultimate Watchlist of the Latest Trends and Food Avengers in 2020. After that, he became a host on Show Champion for two years. Also, Moonbin & Sanha became a sub-unit and their single “Bad Idea” became a huge hit!
2020 was a big year for Moonbin, who appeared in and was nominated for male actor idol of the year for his role in The Mermaid Prince. Also, he was nominated for entertainer of the year.
Moonbin's dedication to his craft and his journey from a child actor to a successful singer are testaments to his hard work and talent. He has won several awards and nominations. His acting skills have been praised by many, and he has shown his versatility as an artist by taking on different roles and genres.
